Nature lovers, we are fortunate to have one of the largest leatherback nesting in the world just minutes from Playa Grande, also known as the Marine Park lute.
Each year, between October and March, hundreds of leatherback turtles come ashore to lay their eggs.
These largest of all sea turtles, giant reptiles of the Jurassic, can be two meters long and weigh over 1,500 pounds.
Turtles can be seen returning to the sea from April to September.
